Yize (Isa) Wei

Nice to e-meet you! I'm Yize, a 3rd-year PhD Candidate in the Computer Science department at National University of Singapore (NUS), advised by Suranga Nanayakkara and Roger Zimmermann . I also work closely with Christophe Jouffrais and Wei Tsang Ooi . Previously, I received a B.Eng. in Industrial Engineering Management from NUS in 2022. I've also worked as a software engineer intern at Autodesk and a student research assistant in the broader field of AI/ML.

My research interest is situated in the intersection of Accessibility, Human-Robot Interaction, and Human-AI Interaction. I am particularly interested in how robots (e.g., drones) can assist People with Visual Impairments (PVI) as novel assistive solutions. I'm generously supported by the Presidential Graduate Fellowship and IPAL (a CNRS International French-Singaporean Research Laboratory). Aside from my work, I love cooking 🍲, reading 📖, listening to podcasts/songs 🎧 and occasional adventures (the last notable one was a multi-day hike in Nepal 🏔, then pandemic and PhD took over my life, one by one). I was a cellist in NUS Symphony Orchestra 🎻.
